    Happy Anniversary!

Like any other advice column or support group what each person gets out of it is going to vary. There’s a lot of interesting information and advice posted here. I don’t know that any of it actually helped me find work, but it’s worth coming here anyway. I’m always willing to gather information and learn new things. I don’t expect Anita or anyone else to have a magic wand that I wave and make everything okay.

Happy Anniversary Anita…I read a lot of the posts in here and I find your resources can be helpful to those who choose to take control of their own path. One recommendation to some I read in here…please learn to write! Some of the postings are to be blunt…elementary level. If the level of writing in here is evidence of your resume or responses to employers…you will not get hired! It may seem “stupid” to some, but it is the real deal to those people who are hiring!

I took a culinary arts training program to restart my life. The restaurant business is very forgiving and always looking for help. As long as you come to work every day on time and do what you’re told, most food service employers won’t care if you’ve been to prison.

It’s too bad that some people are having problems finding work and think your blog doesn”t help. I have been laid off since the end of January. Your blog has helped because I know there are others in the same position and don’t get as depressed as I do when I feel I’m alone. Plus it helps to know that there’s someone out there who cares enough to try to help.
